Abingdon ended a run of four defeats on the trot with two goals in the second half against local rivals Wantage in the Premier Division.
After an even first 20 minutes, Carl Henry saw his curling free kick pushed on to the bar by the Wantage keeper, who then made a good block with his feet to foil the same player.
Alexander headed a corner over the top for Wantage, whose best chance came two minutes into the second half when a cross skidded out of keeper Geoff Morton's grasp, but Bedwell blasted the ball over the top.
United went ahead in the 62nd minute, Wayne Harbert pouncing on a loose ball inside the box.
With Wantage pressing, Abingdon capitalised on more space at the back, and Tom Larman raced away to flick home the second and put the game beyond Town.
