Oxford children's book illustrator Korky Paul called in at Marcham Primary school to give the children a rare glimpse of his behind the scenes secrets.
He spent half an hour with each of the five classes, drawing pictures and explaining how his work is used in illustrating children's books and other publications for youngsters.
After the youngsters, it was the turn of parents and teaching staff to hear from Korky Paul and he signed books for both young and older members of the audience.
Headteacher Eileen Langley said: " It was a wonderful experience for the young children. Staff and parents enjoyed the afternoon too. Now when they read books and publications illustrated by Korky Paul they know who he is."
Mr Paul's real first name is Hamish, but he gained the nickname Korky when he began sketching as a youngster in Zimbabwe.
