A man was jailed after shouting abuse and wrongly accusing a father of being a paedophile.
Kevin Maule, 27, of Sandy Lane, Cholsey, near Wallingford, pleaded guilty to using threatening words or behaviour on October 21 last year.
Paul Mitchell, prosecuting, told Oxford Crown Court that Maule accused the man of being a paedophile.
The man had never been arrested or charged with a sexual offence although he had been charged with common assault on a boy.
Terence Woods, defending, said the paedophile allegations might have come about as the man had taken pictures of children he thought were committing offences near his house.
Mr Woods said Maule had behaved with more dignity since his arrest.
Judge David Morton Jack jailed him for 14 days and extended a conditional discharge from six months to one year.
