After a long lay-off due to adverse weather conditions, Oxon Under 16s took a while to get into their stride during their 0-0 draw with Herefordshire in the East Midlands Combination.
However, they could easily have gone in 6-3 ahead at half-time. But excellent goalkeeping from Hereford's Llewellyn and a competent display by debutant Oxon keeper Ben Banks kept the score blank.
In the second half, Oxon tired a little but could have sneaked it with two minutes to go, when Anthony Henry crashed a shot against the Hereford crossbar.
