A village pub suffered about £8,000 damage when a brook burst its bank and flooded the premises.
Costly damage: Darren Greenfield clears up Landlord Darren Greenfield said he was awaiting an insurance assessor's report following the floods on Monday, which damaged flooring and carpets at the Red Lion, Wendlebury.
He said: "We're looking at that figure as a bare minimum. Flooring is very expensive and the carpets also need to be replaced."
The pub was also used as a refuge by about a dozen residents from nearby homes at Waterside Cottages, which were also flooded out.
They spent most of the afternoon at the pub and returned home to survey the damage when the rain stopped and the flood water subsided.
The pub was closed until Tuesday evening when it reopened to customers.
