By Maggie Hartford Marketing company CPM, based in Thame is sponsoring a touring production of Wuthering Heights.
It is giving 2,000 to the Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company, whose production of the Bronte classic opened last week at the Pegasus Theatre, Oxford, and goes on to tour to village halls, community centres and theatres in Oxfordshire and countrywide until April 7.
In return, CPM staff will be able to see the production, hear the actors and theatre staff talk about their work and join arts-based training.
Karen Pile, chief information officer at CPM, first saw a production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in her own village of Ickford in November 1999. She was so impressed that she contacted the company the next day.
She said: I found the idea of a professional theatre company touring small community venues like village halls really exciting. The intimacy and involvement created by the actors and the staging was outstanding."
The play is at Shipton-under- Wychwood tomorrow, Appleton Village Hall on February 17, Benson Parish Hall on February 22 and West Oxford Community Centre on February 23.
