A Spanish trucker was killed when he drove his lorry into the back of another heavy goods vehicle.
An inquest in Oxford yesterday heard that on July 18 last year, Jose Antonio Castellon-Gallardo, 50, from Granada, was driving uphill on the M40 near Stokenchurch when the accident happened.
His Ibeko lorry was travelling at about 40mph when it hit the back of a 90ft, 78-tonne Volvo lorry travelling at 12-15mph.
He died of head injuries before an ambulance arrived.
Coroner Nicholas Gardiner said that Mr Castellon-Gallardo's failure to notice the slow-moving vehicle ahead could not be explained.
He recorded a verdict of accidental death.
