Gary Hooper, Oxford United's new commercial manager, started work at the Manor yesterday with a mission to promote and initiate business opportunities at the club's new stadium at Minchery Farm.
Mission: Gary Hooper Hooper, 49, is a former professional footballer with commercial experience in the corporate and football world both here and in Australia.
During his playing career, Hooper, who lives in Dunstable, was a defender with Luton Town, Gillingham and Cambridge United.
He then spent 13 years living and working in Australia where he played, coached and managed non-league sides as well as working for two advertising agencies.
"I am very excited about my appointment," Hooper said.
"I think the job will be invigorating, very hard work but very rewarding.
"I will be looking at every opportunity to bring money back into the club by getting involved with the general public and the businesses of Oxford."
