Banbury's impressive away form continued on Saturday as they moved up to 13th in the Dr Martens Eastern Division.
Against a big, physical Bashley side, Banbury competed well throughout, with their defence outstanding.
Bashley's Craig Davis hit the outside of the post in the first half, while at the other end, Garry Harrison's shot was defected into the side netting.
Banbury took the lead in the 43rd minute. Matty Gooderick, who looked a yard faster than any of the Bashley players, found Jody McKay, whose fine cross was headed home by Harrison.
In the second half, Bashley became more cynical and Banbury's physio Wally Hastie seemed to be permanently on call.
The home side's centre half Simon Elley was booked for a crude challenge on Les Phillips and was fortunate to stay on the pitch for the whole game.
Banbury keeper Simon Tricker made an excellent save in the final minutes to deny Bashley.
In the ninth minute of injury time, Banbury's Terry Muckleberg was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Banbury: Tricker, Wallbridge, Redknap, Sullivan, Muckelberg, Fuller, Corbett, Phillips (Essex 81), Harrison (Smith 75), Gooderick, McKay. Sub not used: Brock.
Attendance: 177.
