Basement boys Ross belied their lowly position with a positive performance.
Headington created the better chances but had to wait until the 53rd minute to open their account when Matthew Phillips scored with a close-range drive following a free kick.
Ross fought back hard and after having a goal ruled out for offside, they deservedly equalised in the 78th minute, leaving Headington to rue missing their earlier chances.
