A 37-year-old man died after being found hanging from a bridge over a busy motorway.
The man, who is thought to come from the Buckinghamshire area, was found hanged from an over-bridge at junction five of the M40 at Stokenchurch at 7.30pm on Friday.
Police closed the motorway off for three and a half hours, causing massive tailbacks.
Emergency services were called after a motorist reported seeing the body hanging from the bridge. The dead man has not been named but is believed to have been suffering from depression.
Police said there were no suspicious circumstances.
Inspector Sean Hodgson of Thames Valley Police said: "The man must have been seen by a number of people before we got there, though some may not have realised it was a body."
An inquest was due to be opened today.
