Thirty jobs at Oxford City Council are to go in the latest round of controversial cuts - and park and ride charges could be going up.
The redundancies are part of a 1.7m savings package agreed today at the council's strategy and resources meeting. Putting up park and ride charges - which contradicts the Oxford Transport Strategy - was also approved.
Corinna Redman, leader of the council's Liberal Democrat group, said: "We have done our best not to cut frontline services but it was impossible to do this without some redund- ancies."
She said city residents would not object to park and ride increases because they did not use the service.
Liberal Democrats and Greens agreed to put up the parking charges from 50p to 1.
Drivers already have to pay a return bus fare of 1.50. The parking rise will now be referred to the county council.
The city council is also looking to see if it has land or property it can sell. Job losses will be mainly in leisure services.
