Oxford Hawks Ladies staged a brilliant comeback from three goals down at half-time to draw 3-3 at Phoenix Ranelagh in Division 1 of the Trysports 3 Counties League.
With Hawks and Phoenix sharing second place in the table, the encounter had a lot resting on it.
It was against the run of play when Phoenix took the lead through a penalty stroke after a shot was stopped on the line by a foot.
Phoenix then put away two further chances to set up a commanding lead.
After the break, an impressive first-time shot from Hannah Williamson, connecting with a Wendy Gundry cross, saw Hawks reduce the deficit.
Jill Ireland scored Hawks' second from close range.
With ten minutes to go, after some fine work down the right from Kelly Aldridge and Kathryn Spencer, Hawks were awarded a penalty stroke which Sue Clark converted to level the scores.
The local derby between Rover Oxford 2nd and City of Oxford 2nd ended 1-1.
City took the lead five minutes into the second half through Liz MacKenzie. Rover equalised through a Clare Dunne penalty corner strike in the final minute.
Abingdon Ladies won 5-0 at Milton Keynes 2nd with Ellen King and Katy Bennett both scoring twice. Nicki Lockhart completed the tally with a penalty-corner strike.
In Division 3, Rover 3rd beat Bracknell 3rd 3-1 with goals from Helen Bleach, Jackie Stringer and Sarah Gill.
Pilgrims crushed Phoenix-Ranelagh 5-0. Good play between the forwards and half-back line was the key as goals from Laura Dean, Alice Waite and a Lynn Fathers hat-trick secured the points.
Wychwood remain one point clear of Henley 3rd at the top of Division 5 after a 7-0 crushing of Maidenhead 4th.
Aimee Shaw scored the first three, Carmen Hillier the next two and Anne Dobson and Rachel Mix completed the rout.
