Draughtsman Paul Taylor said he was looking forward to "an epic journey of a lifetime" when he embarks on a charity cycle ride.
Journey of a lifetime: Paul Taylor Mr Taylor, 44, of Jay Close, Bicester, will be travelling to Ecuador in November to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Relief charity.
His 512km journey will start in the tropical forests and then climb to an altitude of 3,300m, high up in the Andes.
Mr Taylor said: "I'm training hard, so I'm confident that I can make it all the way."
