Sell-out performances of a village's variety show have helped raise thousands of pounds for two Oxford charities, writes Gordon Rogers.
The " Sold Out " signs went up before every performance of The Variety Show performed in Kidlington's Exeter Hall last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
The show was organised by Malcolm Baker.
"It was a sell out," said Malcolm. "A total of more than 800 watched the show over three nights. We raised over 3,000 last year for Helen House Hospice and I am confident we will exceed that total this year."

Malcolm, from Bicester Road, Kidlington, is an accounts manager with the Post Office.
After years of singing and dancing he decided, three years ago, to organise a show "to put a bit of spice into Kidlington" and raise money for charity at the same time.
Last year's proceeds went to Helen House, but this year the takings will be shared between Helen House and the new Douglas House hospice.
"The amount of effort which has been put into the show has been amazing," said Malcolm. "Our thanks to everyone, including Exeter Hall management committee who sponsored the shows."
Altogether nearly 100 people were in the cast, including Malcolm who starred in the Abba impersonation group with Lorna McCall, a comedienne, and singers Denise Hutt and Annette Baker.
The two-hour song, dance and comedy show also starred 20 members of the Sands Theatre and Arts Group from Wheatley.
Now Malcolm and members of his family are planning next year's show. He said: "We need a holiday after all the work that has gone into the production."
