Parents had no problem in finding a book for a bedtime story when they brought their children to a "sleepover" at their workplace.
A treasure trove of children's books was available for staff of Red House Books, on Witney's Windrush Industrial Park yesterday.
The event was to promote National Bedtime Reading Week, which starts on Monday.
About 30 children brought duvets, pillows, pyjamas and cuddly toys to settle down while their parents read from books which are part of the company's mail-order catalogue business.
The "sleepover" was just for a couple of hours after work, but pushed home the message that parents and children benefit from reading together.
Managing director Mike Crossley said: "It's never too soon to start reading to your child."
Bedtime reading week is also being backed by Tesco, Booktrust and The Arts Council.
