Peugeot 307, the vehicle that replaces the best-selling Peugeot of all time, the 306, will be released in the UK in June.
The new car features class-leading levels of space and equipment combined with a host of technological innovations in safety and security.
The 307 family range includes three and five-door versions, and will be offered with a choice of three petrol and three turbo diesel HDi engines and five trim levels.
There is a choice of no less than 79 different combinations of interior finish, including colour co-ordinated dashboards.
The car's sleek lines enhance the fact that it is actually one of the biggest cars in its class, offering outstanding passenger comfort, superb head and leg room, and exceptional storage space.
Convenience has been a con- sideration throughout. An air-con- ditioned glove box is standard on most versions to keep drinks cool, and the car is full of useful features, such as the slide-out trays under the front seats, which allow the occupants to store valuable items out of sight.
The Peugeot 307 is one of the first cars in its class to feature six airbags as standard in addition to front and side airbags, curtain airbags protect front and rear occupants from flying glass and side impact in the event of an accident.
There are also three three-point seat belts in the rear and three rear head restraints.
Anti-lock brakes and EBFD (Electronic Brake Force Distri- bution) are standard, as is the innovative emergency brake assist system, which detects when sudden, heavy braking is applied, and increases the pressure exerted on the pedal.
The vehicle's door linings are reinforced and fitted with cowlings which shield the lock elements to keep out thieves. Full pricing and specification details will be announced nearer the launch date.
