Bicester overcame the odds to reach the Oxfordshire Veterans Floodlit Cup semi-finals with an unlikely 14-0 victory over Chinnor at Bodicote Park, Banbury.
Starting with only one specialist front row forward, Bicester were further handicapped when No 8 Dave Brind retired with a dislocated shoulder five minutes before half-time.
Bicester had to defend for long periods but Chinnor were unable to find a way through.
On one of the few occasions they did win good possession, Bicester scored the only try ten minutes from time when flanker Steve Coogan burst over following a break by Alan Alexander.
With fly half Neil Smith having kicked three earlier penalties, this put Bicester out of reach and into the last four, where they will meet either Henley or Blue Boar at Banbury next Tuesday (7.30).
