Our new models will receive their European and UK launches at the London Motorcycle and Scooter Show, which opens today and runs through until Sunday at Excel, the new exhibition centre in London's Docklands.

BMW and Triumph will dazzle show-goers with two mouthwatering sports bikes, while Gilera and Peugeot pile on the style with new, groundbreaking scooters.

BMW's R1100 S will be revealed for the first time in the UK. The German factory's top-of-the-range sports bike will be on display in striking new colours.

Meanwhile, the specification of Triumph's new sports bike receiving its UK debut is a closely guarded secret. UK bike fans will see it first at the London show.

Gilera's ICE scooter features a revolutionary space-saving frame giving it mountain-bike styling. Peugeot's Loxor also launched at the show will appeal to more cosmopolitan commuters with its funky designer-inspired brushed aluminium wheels and accessories.

Aprilia, Cagiva, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha will also display their latest range of motorcycles and scooters. More than 500 new machines will be on show.

The launch of the 2001 British Superbike Championship has also attracted the UK's top racers.

The bike show offers race fans the opportunity to meet their favourite rider.

Showgoers can try and buy the latest clothing accessories.

The 15,000 sq m display offers jackets, gloves and helmets to suit every style and budget from 50p earplugs to a 600 python skin helmet.
