If it slithers or scuttles, or simply looks scary, you can bet kids love them.
Pets do not always come with wet noses and wagging tails, as these children found out when they visited Notcutts Garden Centre at Nuneham Courtenay, near Abingdon. The reptiles proved a big attraction as the centre held competitions to celebrate the opening of its pets centre.
The celebrations, which last all week, include falconry displays, face painting, and children's entertainers.
Freshwater and tropical fish, and pets cute and furry, all add to recipe of delight for visitors of all ages.
