Chipping Norton's world pairs champion Les Gillett roared through to the area finals of the EIBA singles championship with a stunning performance in his semi-final.
On his home green, Gillett dispatched Oxford and District's Norman Wallace 21-5 to book his place in the final against fellow England international Ted Hanger from the Slade club.
Hanger saw off David Fox (Foxhills) 21-11 in his semi-final. A date for the final has still to be arranged.
Meanwhile, Barbara Sleeman has become the first Chipping Norton woman to qualify for the national singles.
Barbara, 35, takes her place in the last 16 at Nottingham next week after qualifying from her area which covers Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
She has been Chippy's indoor woman champion for the last three years.
She said: "I'm thrilled. I've had a taste of the outdoor finals with my mother in the triples at Leamington, but this is a breakthrough indoors."
Barbara is also on course for a second appearance at the finals as a member of the club's mixed fours line-up, who are through the Oxon area finals.
She plays two to Shipton-under-Wychwood outdoor specialist Mavis McVicker in the mixed fours skipped by Gillett, with England international, Alan Prew at three.
Three other Oxon area finals have been decided, with Carterton's trio of Sammy Timms, Peter Latter and Alan Wise taking the area Over 50s triples.
They saw off the challenge of Banbury's Ken Sherratt, Alan Jones and Keith McNeill in convincing style, running out 25-5 victors.
Banbury never recovered after surrendering five shots on the first end and conceded the inevitable with three ends still to play.
