Kidlington Forum A secured maximum points in Oxford & District League Division 1 against a two-man Haddenham team but were pushed all the way, writes Tony Wheeler.

Karl Bushell turned in his usual consistent display with a maximum.

Hard on Forum's heels are Crown House A after their 8-2 victory over Rutherford, with Ray Powell to the fore.

In Division 3, an excellent maximum by Julie Smillie helped second-placed Bicester B to a 6-4 victory over Kidlington Forum F.

Anne Borrowdale, of Vikings D, had a frustrating evening as her team edged home 6-4 against Nielsen A.

She lost each of her three singles games in the final set by the narrowest of margins 22-20 to Ken Rae, 21-19 to Max Jackson and 21-19 to Mike Aistrop.

Bicester D belied their bottom placing by drawing 5-5 against top team Kidlington Forum G.

Bicester's Anthony Weaver and Wendy Chapple won two of their singles and then combined to take the doubles to clinch a draw.
