Countryside lovers will be able to learn while they walk during a series of guided hikes.
Ramblers and naturalists are invited to find out more about the scenery along Oxfordshire's Ridgeway and Thames Path national trails this spring, with a season of public events.
Among the attractions is a 40 mile Ridgeway 'challenge walk'.
The 13-hour hike will follow the ancient path along the North Wessex Downs, south of Wantage, taking in some of the finest countryside in southern England.
Other events include an 11-mile wheelchair trek for disabled ramblers, along the Ridgeway to Barbury Castle Country Park, and a map reading course for beginners.
The National Trails Officer for the Ridgeway, Jos Joslin, said: "The programme includes a wide variety of walks ranging from gentle afternoon strolls to more challenging full-day hikes.
"For added interest we have also included walks combined with boat trips on the Thames and walks with an archaeologist who will bring alive the history of the area."
To get a copy of the free events programme send a stamped addressed envelope to the National Trails Office, Cultural Services, Holton, Oxford OX33 1QQ.
