Oxford City midfielder Simon Abercombie has had his contract cancelled by mutual consent after being struck down by injury.
Abercrombie, who moved to Court Place Farm in the summer having previously been with Witney Town, has played just eight games for City.
He has been jinxed by injury and is currently sidelined with a chipped bone in his ankle which could require an operation.
City manager Paul Lee said: "It is a very disappointing because he is a quality player and was my main signing in the summer."
Meanwhile, City will be looking to bounce back from their 2-0 Oxon Senior Cup exit against Banbury United when they take on lowly Leatherhead in Division 1 at Court Place Farm tomorrow.
Lee added: "I was disappointed with our performance. But without taking anything away from Banbury, the two linesmen made very poor decisions for offside with their two goals."
Centre back Andy Smith returns after missing City's defeat due to work commitments and Terry Sweeney is added to the squad.
Midfielder Chris Fontaine is missing with a one-match ban as Division 1 leaders Thame United take on Northwood at Windmill Stadium.
Justin Lee remains sidelined through injury, but Thame hope to have fellow midfielders Justin Merritt and Nando Perna, plus central defender Andy Williams, who has been suffering from a virus, back in the side.
Manager Andy Sinnott said: "It is another important game for us. People keep having a snipe at our league form, but we have only lost twice in the last nine games."
Managerless Abingdon Town have been hit by a spate of unavailability for their trip to Witham Town in Division 3.
Jon Blencowe, Ben Border, Gary Price and Danny Cleevely are all unable to travel, while Martin Shepherd remains suspended.
