Banbury, with only one Dr Martens Eastern Division win at home before Saturday, easily disposed of St Leonards, who haven't won away for 12 months.
Both teams found it tough on a bumpy pitch, but it was Banbury who carved out the first real chance in the 14th minute. Visiting keeper Jason Curtis mis-handled a through ball, but Mark Sherlock's effort went just wide with the goal at his mercy.
However, it didn't take long for Banbury to break the deadlock in the 19th minute. St Leonards failed to clear a corner and Terry Muckelberg smashed the ball home from six yards following a goalmouth scramble.
St Leonards never really looked like scoring, but Banbury made hard work of increasing their tally.
The second-half was only five minutes old when the home side made the score 2-0. Jon Corbett found George Redknap, who cleverly beat the offside trap before taking the ball around Curtis and slotting into the empty net.
In the 57th minute, Danny Fletcher reduced the arrears with a crisp shot from eight yards, but Banbury made it 3-1 within a minute, Garry Harrison bravely heading over the keeper, injuring himself in the process.
Banbury completed the scoring in the 82nd minute when Matty Gooderick was brought down in the penalty area, and Ady Fuller scored from the spot.
Banbury: Tricker, Wallbridge, Redknap (Essex 83), Sullivan, Muckelberg, Fuller, Corbett, Sherlock (Phillips 67), Harrison (Smith 67), Gooderick, McKay.
