Oxford University marked their last appearance at Iffley Road this term with a 77-7 destruction of Bristol University.
It is over a decade since the Blues secured an unbeaten home season and the 2000-2001 campaign will go down as one of their most successful ever.
The Blues' pack dominated, with props Deri Hughes and Matt Street able to make huge contributions in the loose, while No 8 Justin Hendriksz was constantly at the breakdown keeping the ball alive.
Wingers Brett Hopcroft and Will Rubie scored a brace of tries apiece. Centre Werner van Pittius got his first try at home, while replacements Ed Brooks and Llewlyn ApGwil also went over.
Oxford went down 19-13 at home to Reading 2nd, in a late fixture which replaced their scheduled league fixture at Berkshire Shire Hall who cried off due to their having no available props.
Oxford led 10-0 through tries by Simon Wright and Mark Viner. But experienced Reading replied with three tries before Roy Telling kicked a penalty goal for Oxford.
Grove, testing some young up and-coming backs, lost 20-8 at home to Midlands 2 side Ampthill in a friendly.
Flanker Ed Clayton opened the scoring with a try for Grove, but from then on Ampthill piled on the pressure to score three tries and a penalty, with the home side's only further points coming from Nick Sevier's penalty.
