West Witney Ladies produced an excellent 1-0 win against local rivals and top-of-the-table Rover Oxford in the South Clubs' League Division 1.
In full cry: West Witney's Sue Roberts battles it out with Rover rival Lorraine Furney
Rover slightly edged the first half, forcing the Witney defence of Wendy Birkett, Zazi Barrell, Becky Stack and Sarah Taylor to pull off some excellent tackles.
In the second half, both sides had chances, mainly with penalty corners, with the two goalkeepers pulling off some great saves.
Witney took the lead with ten minutes remaining after another penalty corner was awarded. Sally Jeanes passed to Wendy Birkett, who lifted the ball over the diving Rover keeper.
Linda Billington then made an unbelievable save to preserve Witney's advantage.
