The highlight of a concert next month will be a 20th century masterpiece by Bartok.
The piece, Concerto for Orchestra, was written by the composer soon after he emigrated from his native Hungary to America in 1940. It was one of the last works he completed before his death in 1945.
The concert at Deddington Church by the Banbury Symphony Orchestra, on Saturday, March 24, at 7.30pm, will begin with Weber's Overture Der Freischutz, and will also include Schubert's 4th Symphony.
The orchestra will be conducted by Paul Willet and tickets, price 6 or 2 for children are available from Ottaker's Bookshop and One Man Band Music both in Banbury Deddington Post Office, or on the door.
