Record sales of car insurance policies, particularly to women, boosted profits last year at finance and insurance company Provident Financial.
The group saw sales up 20 per cent to 30.5m, lifting pre-tax profits by 6.9 per cent to 160.2m.
Chief executive Howard Bell said women now accounted for 60 per cent of its 788,000 motor policyholders.
