Thame people are being urged to take part in a Home Zones scheme aimed at making streets safer for residents and their children.
The scheme is being piloted in Oxfordshire and money has been set aside to fund experimental Home Zones across the county.
Mary Stiles, a member of both Thame town and South Oxfordshire district councils, said the zones were a great idea.
She said: "The aim is to separate cars and people, make the designated streets safer for children to be in, and improve the local environment. Ideas from Thame will be considered under the district council's Agenda 21 policies."
County transport planner Roger Geffan is being asked to talk to the town council to give details of the scheme.
