There will be an extra edge to competition in this year's Shaw and Co Oxfordshire Foursomes League campaign which tees off on Saturday.
The league's decision to extend from three to four divisions for 2002 means there is an extra premium on a high placing this season.
For instance, only the top five in Division 1, plus the Division 2 champions, will make it into next year's top flight.
That should not be a problem for the reigning champions, Frilford Heath, who collected their Divison 1 trophy at the league's dinner held at Drayton Park last Friday.
Frilford don't actually start their campaign until March 31, when they visit Hadden Hill.
There are just three matches this Saturday. In Division 2, The Oxfordshire, relegated from the top flight last season, entertain Bucks-based club Hazlemere, while Tadmarton Heath travel to Kirtlington.
Bicester Golf and Country Club, formerly known as Chesterton, quit midway through last season.
They have rejoined under their new ownership.
