Star Wanderers were made to battle all the way before defeating their Division 2 visitors Cowley Cosmos 3-2 in the Morrells Oxford Sunday League Cup.
An even first half ended with the teams level at 0-0, before Abdullah Shehab put the visitors in front ten minutes after the break.
Star soon levelled when Lee Keyes lobbed the keeper, and they took the lead as a pinpoint Richard Mace header found the net from a corner.
A second goal from Abdullah with only five minutes remaining looked like taking the game to extra time, but on the stroke of full time, Keith Megson went on a solo run for Star, beating several Cosmos players before laying the ball off for Keyes to snatch the tie.
Six Bells and Star Royal shared the points as their Premier Division game ended 1-1.
Bells took the lead after half an hour when a -mix-up in Royal's defence allowed Fraser Gills to slot home, but Mickey Tighe converted a penalty for Royal two minutes into the second half.
A great 25-yard strike from Dave Fowles on his comeback from injury helped AFC Vikings to a 4-1 victory over visitors Oxford Exiles in their Division 1 clash.
A Paul Knight penalty put Vikings 2-0 up at half-time and, although Exiles pulled one back midway through the second half, two well taken goals from John Weeks-Pearson wrapped it up for Vikings.
In Division 2, a resurgent Oxford YMCA recorded their first victory in the league, winning 3-2 at Northway.
YMCA adapted better to an uneven pitch and took the lead, only for Northway to level through a Gavin Brandram penalty and then edge in front through Karl Gray.
YMCA continued to battle and were rewarded for their efforts with two further goals to snatch vital points.
David Jennings, Darren Hamilton and 15-year-old Brian Rawlins were on target for Exiles.
Yarnton Village only got the better of Riverside in the closing stages to snatch a 2-0 victory on a mudbath of a pitch at Yarnton. Two late strikes from Ian Kibblewhite and Chris Jordan saw Yarnton home.
Arncott put their recent poor form behind them to see off Donnington Wanderers in Division 4. Gary Lawton netted four, Chris McMillan, Paul Anderson, veteran Andy Cox and Nick Smith one each and Arncott also missed two penalties in the second half.
Roebuck completed the double over Witney Town SC with a 6-4 away victory thanks to Mark Scanes (2), Carl Barber (2), Tony Price and Craig Carter.
*Clubs must return all trophies to their nearest officer of the league (see Rule 42) by March 1.
*The closing date for new applicants for the league is April 1.
