A 53-year-old man with no known relatives killed himself with a drugs overdose, an inquest in Oxford heard yesterday.
Robert Lewis, of Laburnum Crescent, Kidlington, who worked as a sandwich filler, was found dead in bed in his rented ground-floor room by his housemate Richard Goodgame, last September.
Pc Gareth Thomas, from Thames Valley Police, said Mr Lewis, who was found wearing headphones, seemed to be in a comfortable position, looking towards the television.
The inquest heard that packets and an empty bottle of drugs were found in the roomAn empty bottle of Temaz- epam and used packets of Co-Proxamol were discovered, along with notes Pc Thomas said Mr Lewis had intended to be found.
Dr Heidi Luckhurst, from the Gosford Hill Medical Centre, said Mr Lewis was a frequent patient at her practice, suffering from a number of physical complaints.
The pathologist who carried out a post-mortem examination found Mr Lewis died from high levels of two drugs.
Coroner Nicholas Gardiner recorded a verdict that he took his own life.
