A retailer has identified a niche for selling menswear in Wallingford.
Lesley Vernon, of Underhill, Moulsford, will open her new shop, Elements Menswear, in the redeveloped shopping parade in St Martin's Street on March 23.
She will sell made-to-measure suits and shirts, and will open by appointment on some evenings.
Ms Vernon, who has 28 years' experience in the menswear business, believes Wallingford to be an excellent location for her venture. She said: "I am aiming at the man who perhaps travels to work in London and doesn't have the time to go shopping for clothes in Oxford or Reading.
"There is a market for quality menswear in Wallingford. I think we could become a second Henley."
The name Elements was chosen because the clothing on sale will be made of natural fibres - wool, silk, and cotton - and only natural objects will feature in her window displays.
