A 17th-century town hall is to get a new look for spring - yellow.
Contractor E W Beard has put up scaffolding round Wallingford's 1670 town hall and will spend the next six weeks giving it a £10,000 lick of paint.
The face-lift is part of a general make-over for the town's historic Market Place.
The fountain was restored last year, and the War Memorial will be next to receive some loving care and attention, starting on Monday.
Town Clerk Andrew Rogers said the pale yellow colour scheme for the historic town hall had been approved by the conservation officer at South Oxfordshire District Council.
The building is currently beige.
The windows will be painted white, while
the columns stone-coloured.
Mr Rogers said: "Hopefully the town centre will look better than it has for years when all the work is finished."
The quote for £10,000 was the cheapest obtained.
