More than 130 small firms were represented at the launch of the West Oxfordshire Business Forum.
The meeting was held at the Witney Lakes Resort through a link-up between the Federation of Small Businesses and Lloyds TSB. The federation supports, advises and lobbies on behalf of small businesses.
Regional organiser Gill Perkins was delighted with the turnout. She said: "The large attendance at this event and the great success of the Cherwell Business Forum in Banbury suggest there is a real need for good quality networking opportunities in all areas of the Thames Valley.
"By linking with Lloyds TSB to organise the West Oxfordshire Business Forum, we are setting a high standard that we now plan to extend across the region."
The chairman of the new group is Prof Roger Mumby-Croft, director of the Enterprise Centre at Oxford Brookes University Business School.
The next forum meeting is on May 10, and it will be held again at the Witney Lakes Resort.
