Leaders Thame United have got a goalkeeping crisis ahead of tomorrow's Ryman League Division 1 trip to Uxbridge.
Regular keeper Ian Moores is serving a one-match ban after being sent off against Walton & Hersham, leaving manager Andy Sinnott with a selection headache.
Sinnott had attempted to sign former Oxford City keeper Mickey Torres, who has been playing in the Oxford Sunday League for Wolvercote, on a one-match basis.
And although Torres was keen to help Thame out, a knee cartilage injury prevented him from taking up the offer.
"Mickey was willing, but he went to the hospital earlier this week, and they told him to rest his knee," said Sinnott.
"I've still got irons in the fire with a couple of non-league clubs, and I am hopeful that we can get someone in.
"But if nothing comes of it, then I will throw in Chris Brain, the county under 18 keeper. He's very capable, and I would have no worries about playing him."
Sinnott added: "We've had our wobble and we're back at it again. We've had injuries and we've slipped up of late, but people are back now and there are no excuses."
Line-up for Saturday, March 3:
Thame Utd (v Uxbridge, away): from Brain, G Williams, Jones, Potter, A Williams, Brown, Avery, Smith, Merritt, Perna, Fontaine, Minton, West, Swaysland, Mitchell.
