Vauxhall's range of sporting SRi's includes new models, new engines, more power and more equipment.

Vauxhall's new Corsa, wearing an SRi badge for the first time, can be ordered now. The warmest of the new Corsa range will be available with two engines, a 1.4-litre 16-valve, and a top-of-the-range 1.8-litre 16v with 125 horsepower.

For customers 19 and over, free insurance is available on both models. On-the-road prices for the SRi start at £11,495 for the 1.4 and £12,995 for the 1.8.

Standard equipment on all SRi's includes remote-control central locking, twin airbags, air-conditioning, alloy wheels, sports front seats, leather-covered steering wheel, radio/CD player, white instrument dials, electric/heated mirrors, and alloy-effect interior trim.

The 1.8 SRi adds ABS with traction control, 15in alloys and cruise control.

The new Astra SRi 2.2 16v. was recently voted What Car? Hot Hatch of the Year. Its all-aluminium, 147 horsepower, 2.2-litre engine is the most powerful in the hatchback range, available as a three-door only.

The Vectra SRi has always been one of the most popular models in the Vectra range, and for 2001 it gains three additions over last year's model - new 2.2-litre 16v and 2.6 24v V6 petrol engines and the 2.2 DTi diesel.

Available in saloon, hatchback and estate versions, the Vectra chassis has also been tuned. Prices range from £15,245 to £17,490.
