Didcot Tn 2,
Swindon Super 1
A GOAL four minutes from time by Matt Bianchini gave Didcot a deserved win against the Premier Division champions.
Didcot were looking to avenge two narrow defeats at the hands of Marine earlier in the season, and there was little to suggest they would manage it as the visitors went into an early lead.
Town's Paul Noble was unable to clear the ball and Michael Silvanus broke away. An inch-perfect pass across the edge of the box was met by Richard Hodgkiss, who drove a low shot past keeper Alex Deadman into the net
Town manager Pete Cox must have had a few words at half time because Didcot were far more purposeful after the interval.
The equaliser came in the 53rd minute. A fine knock down by Bianchini put Andy Graham in the clear and he coolly lobbed the keeper.
Wth 11 minutes remaining. Didcot's Jamie Heapy was harshly sent off following a high challenge.
As so often happens, the sending-off galvanized the team with only ten-men and the winner came when Bianchini rose well to head home Andy Marriott's cross.
North Leigh 2,
Wootton Bassett 0
PLAYING all the good football, North Leigh dominated proceedings.
The opening goal came in the 17th minute when Jamie Jackson sprung the visitors off side trap and squared for Matty Ellis to score with a fierce drive from ten yards.
A mazy run by Andy McCabe caused panic in the Bassett defence, and his deep cross found defender Mark Lewis at the far post to score North Leigh's second goal mid way through the first half.
After the break, most of the action centred on the visitors' half, but there were few clear-cut chances at either end to add to the earlier scoreline.
Carterton Tn 2,
Cirencester Academy 0
CARTERTON were always well on top in this second meeting the clubs in three days.
After Paul Sherwood, Kevin Lewis, James-Mortimer Jones missed chances, sherwood put Carterton in front in the 40th minute following a move involving David Herbert, Jason Cook and Tristan Didcock.
Three minutes later, a good clearance from Gary Brown led to Cook giving Cirencester keeper Warren Jackson no chance. With a comfortable 2-0 lead at the break, Carterton should have had another four as the vistors did not have a shot.
Sherwood went closest, sending a powerful header against the bar.
This was Cirencester's fifth game in six days, and Carterton's fourth in five. Cirencester Utd 1,
Ardley Utd 3
ARDLEY finished their Division 1 West season on a high with a victory on a bumpy pitch at Cirencester.
The visitors got off to a flier with a well-worked move between Spencer Warr and Paul Spittle, allowing leading scorer Steve Tucker to finish with a header at the back post.
Cirencester got back into the game and put Ardley under pressure. From a free kick, Messenger reacted first to a ball into the box and smashed home the equaliser from close range.
The remainder of the half saw lots of niggly tackles, with the referee showing a number of yellow cards.
In the second half, Dean Moss reacted well in the area to rifle Ardley 2-1 ahead.
Ardley keeper Paul Tassell rescued his side with a good close range save before Adam Hodgson secured the points.
Bishops Cleeve 2,
Headington Ams 1
AFTER a fast and furious first half in which both sides failed to master a bumpy pitch and strong wind, Headington took control of the game, creating numerous chances but failing to score.
A 79th-minute breakaway saw Bishops Cleeve take the lead through Slack.
Headington equalised when McFadden finished off a four-man move in the 85th minute, only to go behind again three minutes later when Constantine scored after Jimmy Light had parried his first attempt.
Quarry Nomads 0,
Rayners Lane 1
QUARRY could not find the net after creating several chances in the first half of this Division 1 East game. In the second half, Rayners scrambled the ball over the line to finish up the winners.
