Village youngsters are set to benefit from a £2,500 scheme to improve playground safety.
Youngsters in Harwell, near Didcot are being guaranteed a softer landing, following plans to repair the village's popular adventure playground.
The scheme will see the re-surfacing and re-painting of the playground and the creation of improved bark-surfaced landing areas under climbing frames.
The work is being funded by the Hanson Environment Fund's Community Grants Scheme as part of the landfill tax credit scheme, which allows the company to direct 20 per cent of tax collected on the dumping of waste in its landfill sites towards environmental projects.
Brian Grosvenor, the unit manager of Hanson's Sutton Courtenay site, said: "The repairs to Harwell adventure playground are essential to maintaining children's safety."
