Worthing 3, Thame Utd 0 THAME completed a season that had started so well with a lacklustre performance on the south coast.
With their Ryman League Division 1 promotion hopes having evaporated during the last two months, Thame manager Andy Sinnott took the opportunity to rest players ahead of tomorrow's Oxfordshire Senior Cup final against Banbury United.
The opening exchanges were even, with Chris Brain in the Thame goal saving well from Damian Webber.
Worthing went ahead on 15 minutes when Simon Funnells cross was volleyed home by Peter Brackley with the United appealing for offside.
John Mitchell tested home keeper Lee Bray in the 44th minute, but the home side went further ahead a minute later.
United's 17-year-old keeper, Chris Brain, fumbled a Brackley shot and Ben Carrington accepted the gift to head home.
Bray was called into action in the 55th minute, making a superb save to deny Greg Williams and later tipping over a Nando Perna shot.
The final goal arrived in the 83rd minute when Funnell found Carrington, who turned before firing a shot into the bottom corner.
Thame Utd: Brain, Smith (West 80), Lee, Brown, Avery, Williams, Louis, Mitchell (Greg 71), Cort, Perna, Potter (Simms 21).
