One From the Heart in association with Horsham Arts Centre presents Letters Home telling the poignant story of Sylvia Plath's life and early death, at The Theatre in Chipping Norton on Wednesday, writes Chris Gray.
During her short life Sylvia Plath wrote countless letters home to her mother Aurelia. Letters that not only reveal their peculiarly intense relationship but also her raw-edged response to the world around her.
Aurelia published a huge volume of these letters and every word of Rose Leiman Goldemberg's play is drawn from that book.
Hildegarde Neil, who directs and plays Aurelia, is known for her film appearances as Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra opposite Charlton Heston and her starring role in A Touch of Class with Glenda Jackson and George Segal.
The performance starts at 8pm. Tickets are available from the box office, telephone 01608642350.
