Oxford has its very own Carl Cox, his name is Mark Huggins and he plays just around the corner, writes Marilisa Vergottini.
Hosting a monthly night at the Zodiac, those of you in the know will recognise this dance DJ as one of the new up-and-coming talents in the world of funky house music.
Already attracting a loyal and ever-growing crowd to the venues Futur night, his night is the next best thing to hit the Oxford club scene since Euphoria.
In keeping with its name, Futur's vibe tends to shy away from standard radio club tunes and experiments instead with a wide range of cutting edge, cooler tracks and lots of sophisticated mixing.
Mark began his DJ career over three years ago within the London gay scene, which is arguably the most avant-garde stage for progressive and hard house music.
He successfully sends his audience into a growing frenzy with his block rocking beats while following the vibe and gaining inspiration for his record choices from the audience's response and the general atmosphere on the floor.
The next Futur is scheduled for May 25th at the Zodiac.
