A charity that supplies dogs to deaf people is sending out an appeal for foster parents.
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People says it cannot take its regular quota of dogs from animal shelters unless more volunteers come forward.
The charity is looking for puppy socialisers in Oxfordshire to take a dog into their home for between one and seven months.
The aim is to get the dog used to every day life. The puppy must not be left alone for more than four hours.
The charity pays all expenses but volunteers must attend puppy classes every three weeks at its base in Saunderton, Buckinghamshire.
At the end of the seven months the puppy is returned to the centre where is will receive intensive training before going to a permanent home.
