Newly-promoted White Horse Harriers opened their track and field campaign in style with joint first place in the opening Southern Men's League Division 4 fixture at Tooting Bec, south London.
The best individual performance came from junior cross-country star Tom Penfold, who showed both strength and speed in winning the 800m with a new club record time of 1min 59.1secs.
He later went on to finish second in the 1500m, with 4.23.7.
Neil Rutterford, an Army decathlete based in Kidlington, was Harriers' top points scorer, winning three of his six events.
A pole vault clearance of 2.80m was sufficient for victory, as were leaps of 1.82m in the high jump and 5.94m in the long jump.
Result: 1= White Horse Harriers & South London Harriers 125, 3 Isle of Wight 116, 4 Havant 106, 5 Serpentine 48
