Oxford United's chairman says he has named the club's new ground the Kassam Stadium as a public gesture of commitment.
Firoz Kassam said: "I took the decision to give the stadium my name to publicly declare my long-term commitment to the club and prove to everyone that I am not here for the short term."
The new ground takes shape
So Oxford United's new ground will be similar to that of neighbouring Reading FC's Madejski Stadium, named after their millionaire owner, John Madejski.
United had wanted to name their stadium after a major sponsor, in the way that Wigan have done with the JJB Stadium and Bolton have with their Reebok Stadium. But they say they still hope to get a major company to sponsor the ground for a set period of time.
Following their relegation this season, United will be playing in the Football League's bottom division for the first time since the 60s.
