More than £1,100 raised to help children in Albania will soon be on its way.
The money has languished in a Thame bank since the charity it was meant for - Care Albania - ceased to operate.
But it will now go to help fund a children's hospital there.
It was raised at a special event four years ago by former mayor Mike Le Mesurier but was frozen because the charity ceased to exist.
Mr Le Mesurier has been working with the Charity Commissioners to free the money to another charity working in the same field.
He said: "I am now confident that the money will shortly be released.
"It will go to the Glasgow-based Children In Distress and help a children's hospital in Albania.
"It has taken a long time to sort out the problems, but the money will go to where it was intended and to help children in need."
