Bicester mark 50 years of playing at The Garth with a celebration match against English Bowling Association president Dennis Grint's team next Thursday (2.30).

The club, which was founded in 1862, originally played on a green behind the King's Head in London Road before moving to their current home in 1951.

Grint, who is from Norfolk, draws his team from players from all over the country.

This summer, Bicester are again holding a ladies' open triples tournament and a men's open fours tournament which ithe past have been well supported by teams from Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Hampshire.
