Witney has a new town mayor, 49-year-old antiques dealer David Harvey.
He was voted in, unopposed, to the office by the annual meeting of town councillors, with transport manager Clive Knowles as deputy.
"I am really looking forward to it," said Mr Harvey. "I only came to Witney five years ago when we relocated the business from London.
"But not having to commute every day has given me the time to become involved in the community. It's absolutely wonderful to be able to do that."
Mr Harvey takes over from Louise Chapman, who now has extra responsibilities as a member of the new cabinet on West Oxfordshire District Council.
He is the owner of WR Harvey and Co in Corn Street, a long-established antiques business.
Mr Harvey's first official engagement as mayor is to open the Batt CE School fete on Saturday.
