A hat-trick of judo medals was completed by Alan Patrick on Sunday 6th May. Competing in the National Junior Championships of the British Judo Council at Hereford, he won the bronze medal in the boys under 55kg category.
In a keenly contested group, he won three fights by ippon and missed the chance to fight for the gold medal by the narrowest of margins.
This is the third successive medal for 15-year-old Alan in as many tournaments, following on from successes in the Welsh Junior Championships and the London Millennium International.
Alan, who lives in Grove, trains with the Eynsham and Brize Norton Judo Clubs run by Simon Goddard, as well as with the area squad at the Faringdon Dojo. He is also a member of the BJC National Junior Squad which selects representatives for national and international competitions.
